I’m an editorial and publishing illustrator. What interests me is the tension between opposites: restraint and intensity, a single image holding two truths at once.

I start with pencil and paper, letting an idea reveal itself before I touch a screen, and most pieces end up as digital paintings with traditional textures layered in. I’m drawn to the news of the moment and to the critical turn in a story, where the emotional temperature of a scene can be distilled into one frame.

I try to keep sentimentality at arm’s length, though the occasional cat or bird sneaks in.
